What is Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)?

SCA is an extra security check that is applied each time you access your Online Banking Services, initiate an online payment or carry out other actions, such as creating or amending a trusted beneficiary in online banking. SCA helps protect you against online fraud.

Enhancements to Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) are being implemented by all UK banks as a regulatory requirement to improve security for online card payments. This means that you will need to authenticate online card payments more frequently than you currently do.
