Meet a Wealth Planning expert: Rachel Wyatt
We speak with Rachel Wyatt, Wealth Planner, who has just joined the Manchester team.
Earlier this year, our Manchester office celebrated its fifth anniversary, as well as reporting a record year of growth. Following on from this, we speak with Rachel Wyatt, Wealth Planner, who has just joined the team.
What is your banking specialism?
I am a wealth planner providing advice to clients on how best to structure their finances to meet their short, medium, and long-term goals. I specialise in asset protection, estate, and retirement planning.
What is happening in your sector at the moment and how are you able to help?
Financial planning can be complex and it is part of my role to maintain a strong understanding of external factors and new legislation. As financial support from Government is withdrawn, future budgets will look to increase revenue inflows to bring down the deficit to normal levels and I will need to consider how these will impact our clients’ financial plans. Efficient tax planning is a cornerstone of wealth planning and can be used effectively to grow, protect or pass on wealth. The pandemic has prompted many to reassess what is important and good financial planning can be the first step to help people achieve their goals. A planning review will identify exposure to risks and provide recommendations on how these can be mitigated effectively within an agreed attitude to risk.
Why did you decide to work at Arbuthnot Latham?
Planning is at its most effective when the whole picture is taken into consideration. Arbuthnot Latham focuses on long-term relationships and time is invested to understand the client’s needs before putting forward a solution tailored to their individual circumstances. Clients have access to banking, planning, and investment services under one relationship allowing for joined-up thinking to deliver effective solutions to meet the client’s needs.
What do you like to do outside of work?
My husband and I love travel and the diversity that comes with it - mainly in the form of food. I am looking forward to sharing this passion with my two young children, who have an energy I try to keep pace with! I enjoy films and reading and aspire one day to write my own detective novel which would then be made into a TV series.
