What is your banking specialism?

I head up the insolvency practitioner proposition at Arbuthnot Latham, within the wider Professionals team. I have managed firms within this sector for the past 12 years, however my banking career spans over 20 years.

I am an associate member of R3, the trade association of insolvency and restructuring professionals, which helps me stay close to the sector and stay abreast of regulatory changes.

It is also a fantastic network of professionals, allowing me to spend time with existing contacts and those who I am looking to work with more closely.

What challenges are insolvency practitioners facing currently?

The insolvency practitioner sector is becoming increasingly busy, with the amount of administrations and liquidations rising month-on-month. This is a biproduct of the current economic climate.

Insolvency practitioners need speed of execution to open estate accounts so that they can secure the cash in those businesses for the creditors as soon as possible.

Supported by our back office, we can open estate accounts quickly, provide a fee-free proposition and provide first-class relationship management to support the insolvency process.

We have already onboarded a number of clients and the experience of working with Arbuthnot Latham has been well received.

What sets Arbuthnot Latham apart in the market?

Having spent over 12 years at my previous bank from its inception, the opportunity to join a bank with 190 years of history and to drive their existing proposition into a new sector was too good to miss.

Arbuthnot Latham combines the traditional relationship banking and service levels that you would expect from a private bank, blended with commercial expertise and a fantastic drive to deliver for our clients. I’m really excited to be part of the next stage of the bank’s overall growth.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work I am kept busy by my young family and their active social lives, but usually manage to find time for a round of golf at the weekends.

I am a keen Liverpool supporter and try to get up to Anfield at least once a season.

I also ensure I tick something off my bucket list every year - this year it was drinking champagne overlooking a vineyard in Reims.
