Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending (ACABL) has delivered a comprehensive £4.5m growth funding package to Dunmow Skips Ltd (Dunmow), a leading waste management and recycling operator based in Essex.
This funding package combines a £3.5m confidential invoice discounting facility with a £1m Growth Guarantee Scheme loan, designed to refinance Dunmow’s existing facility and provide ongoing working capital support for future growth.
Founded in 1987, Dunmow has transformed from a skip hire operation into one of the premier full-service waste management firms in the South East. The company processes over 200,000 tonnes of waste each year from its strategically located sites in Chelmsford, Clacton, and Brightlingsea. With more than 2,500 five-star reviews on Trust Pilot, Dunmow has established a solid reputation and caters to a wide array of clients, including prominent housebuilders..
The Chelmsford site stands as the largest waste treatment facility in central Essex, with no other waste transfer station exceeding half an acre within a 20-mile radius. This strategic positioning allows Dunmow to leverage substantial regional growth opportunities, particularly following recent contract acquisitions with Essex County Council.
Sam Malins, Group CEO of Dunmow Skips Ltd, said:
“Arbuthnot impressed us by providing director level input from the start. They came out on site to get to know us, which is a rarity in our experience. The enhanced facility delivers the headroom for growth and will help us drive the revitalisation of the existing infrastructure across all our three sites.”
Ed Barnes, Group CTO of Dunmow Skips Ltd, said:
“Towns like Chelmsford are very fast growing and a focal point for the construction sector. As a regional leader and with our enhanced facility in place, we have the perfect platform to support that growth because of the capacity and range of the construction waste services we are able to offer.”
Andrew Rutherford, Commercial Director at Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending Limited, said:
“Providing this bespoke funding package to Dunmow Skips reflects our focus on supporting growing businesses with speed and certainty. Dunmow has built a strong reputation in the waste management sector, and the company’s focus on strategic growth aligns perfectly with our commitment to support ambitious, established businesses. This funding provides the vital working capital and financial flexibility necessary to support the company’s recent contract wins, enabling them to realise their significant growth potential.”
